Louise Brooks is my all time favorite silent film star. She was born in 1906 in Cherryvale KS. Her name was actually Mary Louise Brooks but she later change it to Louise Brooks for stage. She also went by the names Lou Lou and Brooksie. Louise passed away in of August 1985 in Rochester NY.
She started off as a dancer with the Denishawn Modern Dance Company then later joined the Ziegfeld Follies. Later she progressed on to acting in silent films.
Louise starred in seventeen silent films. One of her most known movies and one of my all time favorite movies is Pandora's Box.
Louise was known for her sleek black bobbed hair that they said resembled a helmet. I have included some pictures of the lovely Louise for everyone's viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
