The Victory Garden
This past weekend I spent some time out in the garden. My house mate and I planted lettuce and picked weeds. We already have several herbs that survived the winter. We will be planting many more tasty things in the days to come.
In this post I have included a couple of my favorite Victory Garden propaganda posters from World War I.

Hat obsession anyone?
Does anyone else have a hat obsession, particularily a vintage hat obsession? I know I can not be the only one out there! I just adore hats, especially vintage ones. I have been collecting them for about 15 plus years now, maybe more. I saw a cute gal on the bus with a mix of different clothing eras on both new and old. She had on the most adorable vintage black and butterscotch straw cloche hat on.
So tell me readers...do you have a hat obsession? If so tell me about it, how many hats do you have? Are they modern or vintage? How do you wear them - with a mix of old and new or do you stick to one era? If so what is your favorite era? Also how do you store them, etc?... enquiring minds what to know!

Big Sale at Bella Norte Antiques in Portland!
To all antique and vintage clothing lovers in the Portland area, head on over to Bella Norte address is: 3978 N. Mississippi. The sale started on April 30th and tomorrow is the last day.
I just found out about this sale and I was able to make it there today. In case you are unfamiliar with Bella Norte on Mississippi Street they are an antique store with some vintage clothes. They also do Estate Liquidations so after they take over an estate they will hold a monthly estate sale in there store. These things were all from the Overlook Estate, I guess this has been their third or fourth estate sale and so far EVERYTHING has been from this one estate! They have a $10.00 clothing rack, a couple of $5.00 clothing racks and another rack where everything is priced as marked, plus mutiple tables of antiques marked 1/2 off. Then towards the back they have a couple of bins to paw through where every thing is $3.00 a bag (as much as you can stuff in it!). I ended up bringing home a couple of bags full myself (mostly to sell and of course a wee bit to keep). I am building up my stock of merchandise to start an Etsy store here real soon, so keep on the look out for it. Right now I am researching cameras, so if anybody has any suggestions for some good camera recommendations please let me know.

Weekend at mom's and contest!
My weekend at my mom's was great fun, I found many good vintage finds (more to sell rather than keep). Plus I really want to have a blog contest when I reach 100 followers. I am a long, long way off, currently I have 28 followers so the count down begins!
