Hello all, it has been awhile!
Here is a cozy little corner in my vintage bed room.
As most of us know it was just Chinese New Year about a week and a half ago now (Chinese New Year is on February 8th and is celebrated on the 7th through the 13th) plus it is the Year of the Monkey (my Chinese horoscope sign is the monkey). I spent this time immersing myself in Chinese/American historical Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293517876358024833.post-5199460687516991372014-02-28T23:35:00.004-08:002015-12-19T13:42:46.528-08:00First recipe on the new cooking blog! Nut Butter Balls
Some of you may know I have recently decided to add recipes to my blog. These Nut Butter Balls are one of my favorite things to eat and they are fun to make. I originally found this recipe online but I have greatly changed it and adapted it to my tastes. These nut butter balls are gluten free, dairy free, refined sugar free, free of preservatives and they are vegetarian Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293517876358024833.post-35397578956711502782014-02-02T00:58:00.000-08:002014-02-02T10:46:21.246-08:00New! Now offering healthy and delicious recipes! Hello y'all, welcome back to my blog!
I have been contemplating posting my recipes on my blog for a while now. People ask me for my recipes quite often and this is a good way to share them. The main thing that has been holding me back is because this is a vintage blog and for the most part my recipes are not vintage. However I pretty much cook in the spirit of old time cooking, so that has to Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293517876358024833.post-6658845253594707702014-01-19T14:40:00.000-08:002014-01-19T14:40:02.263-08:00Reconnecting with a friend from the past.

I do not normally write about too many modern day things on this blog since it is a blog devoted to things of a vintage and antique nature. However sometimes I have something I just want to share that does not fit into that category from time to time and this is one of those times. A few weeks ago (just after Christmas) I found and reconnected with Rickey Davis,Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293517876358024833.post-2408584135236728262014-01-06T17:42:00.000-08:002014-01-20T18:19:56.515-08:00Queen for a Day! Welcome all to Devil at Dusk Installment thirty two!
Sunday night the Sheriff’s Office got some more reports of
UFO’s, this time the people that called said they saw lights of an unidentified
flying object around the highway 15 area not far from the farmhouse. Monday
morning Jerry and I went and got our search warrant and we made it back over to

Welcome Folks to Devil at Dusk installment number thirty

The next day I put on a pair of overalls with a button down
shirt, I braided my hair in two pig tails with a big straw hat and then I put
on my old cowboy boots. I went out to the stable and grabbed a piece of straw
and placed it between my two back teeth. Then I got into the old pickup truck
and drove over to the pharmacy in Bay Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293517876358024833.post-85003246135203631442013-11-26T17:41:00.000-08:002013-11-26T17:49:20.251-08:00Devil at Dusk - Installment Thirty
Welcome back everybody to Devil at Dusk Installment Thirty!
I was up at 6 am the next day, I pulled out my typewriter
and I typed up a synopsis of the information I had gotten from Marguerite. Soon, I would go to my office and I would use the parts of the synopsis that were
important and after that it would all go into the file. When I was done I
started making some breakfast for Marguerite Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293517876358024833.post-81814423517718674922013-11-19T23:01:00.002-08:002013-11-19T23:31:44.589-08:00Devil at Dusk - Installment Twenty Nine
Welcome all to Installment Twenty Nine of Devil at Dusk!
After Marguerite was done looking at all of the evidence,
Jerry and I took her around to all of the places where the murder victims had
been found. Marguerite told us she would collect all the information she could
from these things and places, then while we were at dinner she said she would
discuss her findings with us. She said it Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293517876358024833.post-86057815414791685302013-11-12T22:27:00.001-08:002013-11-12T22:31:36.517-08:00Devil at Dusk - Installment Twenty Eight!
Welcome back to Devil at Dusk installment twenty eight.
Marguerite and I traveled all the through the bayou,
crossing the bridges that went over the swamps, we drove through the groups of
small trees and we saw moss covered cottages. Everything looked like it was
dripping with green. Halfway home we stopped off at a small diner for a cup of
coffee so we would not be tempted to drift off to Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293517876358024833.post-79895268079967956102013-11-05T21:45:00.001-08:002013-11-05T22:31:43.880-08:00Devil at Dusk - Installment Twenty Seven
Welcome everybody to installment twenty seven of Devil at
Dusk!
After speaking with Ilya I was convinced that I had to try
to track down Marguerite and to have her use her psychic abilities to help me
out with trying to find out who our serial killer was. Since I pretty much did
not have anyone else to call on about this matter I decided to just get in the
car and drive on down to the bayou Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293517876358024833.post-42526354722029544172013-10-28T23:43:00.000-07:002013-11-05T22:27:56.661-08:00Devil at Dusk - Installment Twenty Six
Welcome to installment twenty six of Devil at Dusk
I had to do whatever it would take to try to track down our
killer! I had to be smarter than he was. I had been hearing rumors around town
for a few weeks now that there was a psychic over in Larose Louisiana. I asked
around to the towns people here in Laurel what they happened to know about this person. I
heard many interesting stories Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293517876358024833.post-88257294476816115292013-10-21T20:30:00.004-07:002013-10-23T17:39:53.165-07:00Devil at Dusk - Installment Twenty Five
Welcome to installment twenty five of Devil at Dusk.
The next day I went to see Hazel’s aunt and uncle, after
sitting down and talking to them for an hour, it was very clear they were not
involved in her murder. Of course as always I would go and double check on a
few things to confirm all of this. The aunt and uncle were just kind and concerned
relatives trying to help their young niece out Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293517876358024833.post-43811960294335663602013-10-15T22:04:00.002-07:002013-10-16T08:05:17.668-07:00Devil at Dusk - Installment Twenty Four

On Friday my parents picked up Will and drove him back to

good people and we were very lucky to find such Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293517876358024833.post-27798338037062843962013-10-01T21:55:00.002-07:002013-10-02T23:17:15.648-07:00Devil at Dusk - Installment Number Twenty Two

We finally made it through the Avenue of the Giants and we were back on HWY 101 again.
