H&M department store opened it first door in Portland Oregon on Thursday November 11th, 2010. On the following Sunday my friend invited me to come with her to see what all of the hub bub was about. I do not usually set foot into Malls or that many everyday modern shops but I thought what the heck. OMG it was wall to wall people! We both took one quick run through and then we had to leave but we will be back once H&M has settled into to the neighborhood. H&M is based in Sweden so it is now becoming known as the Ikea of the fashion world. I found a few things that I kind of liked-that would work well with my vintage clothes (but did not buy because the lines were too long). I was however inspired by this falls/winters clothing colors: black, grey, charcoal, lavenders, rose, salmon, pale pinks, burgundys, reds and honey beige tones. When I went to work the next day I wore a charcoal grey wool pencil skirt, black tights, black kitten heels, a satin thistle colored chamisole with a black lace overlay, and a light charcoal short (40's style) sweater girl type of cardigan. I also wore my pale pink pearls with matching earings and bracelet that my boss Diane brought me and all of the office gals (each a set - we all had our own colors) back from her trip to Hawaii last summer. I was so inspired by the color combos at H&M that I wore some form or variation of these colors all through the week.
